zee plates

I've now made a few plates to go with the bowls I posted earlier. I know all this images are of my pottery as green ware but I just loaded the kiln today and should have some nice new shiny pictures up within the week.

You can see a few of my design ideas on these plates. What do ya think?

Artist of the Week: Yuri Poberezhny

My first post for Artist of the week. I am constantly finding new inspirations and blogging is a way to scrapbook their existence and share the beauty with others. For this week I would like to show you Yuri Poberezhny. These images just fascinate me. Working mostly in black and white at the moment, I am really inspired by these drawings. Most of his pieces I have found are done without color either as a print or ink on paper drawing.  Here are a few of my favorites found on Saatchi Online. I love love LOVE his line quality, and detail.

And here is one in color, just to spice things up a little bit.
How cute is this?!

Yo Ho Bottles for Thee

Just unloaded a kiln this afternoon and a few precious delights were inside to great me. The majority of the kiln was full of half finished experimental projects that I will post pictures of later, but.. in the bottom were some of the bottles (and a jar) that I whipped up one day last week. Im pretty happy with them for the most part. Im excited to draw lots and lots in my sketchbook this week and get some wicked imagery conjured up for my next batch of stuff.  I want to established great images and technique since I am still new to this style before I start making teapots so that all the work of making the teapot isn't ruined by the drawings. How are you liking these so far? Suggestions/Critique is ALWAYS helpful.

I'm also getting excited to do a soda firing in the near future. The black and white would look so beautiful with that atmosphere.

And to cap things off.. I would like to share a few images that I find darling and inspiring..

These were found on etsy. Im not sure of the artists but will make an effort to re-find them. If you recognize these let me know. :)
